In 2007, the Saint Charles Convention Center, proudly managed by Spectra, embarked on a mission to give back to the community and produced the first annual Helping Hands for the Holidays.
The convention center created this free event with the goal to improve the lives of people in need during the holidays. Over the years the event has surpassed 14,000 attendees and many volunteers.
In 2019, 861 men, women and children enjoyed a warm holiday meal free of charge, along with coats, gloves, personal care items, Santa and much more.
Thanks to hundreds of generous volunteers and donors, in 2019, over 3,249 personal care items and 450 winter coats were distributed to those in need. Community partners and exhibitors also played a huge role in the event’s successes, helping to provide 60 flu shots, 42 haircuts, 1,200 free books for all ages, photos with Santa and fun holiday crafts.
This year, the Saint Charles Convention Center is so excited to watch the continued growth and success of Helping Hands for the Holidays.
