Since its founding in 2008, Helping Hands for the Holidays has become a cherished annual tradition in the St. Charles community—bringing warmth, dignity, and hope to individuals and families in need each holiday season. Held at the Saint Charles Convention Center, the event offers more than just a festive gathering—it provides real, tangible support including hot meals, winter essentials, health services, and holiday cheer.
At our 17th annual event in 2024, over 600 guests were welcomed with compassion and care. Attendees received hot meals, personal care items, winter coats, health screenings, and access to community resource programs—along with a joyful visit from Santa Claus.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses and organizations, we collected over 3,300 winter apparel itemsand six pallets of personal care products. These donations made an immediate impact during the event and continued to serve the community afterward, with remaining items donated to Compass Health Network for distribution throughout the winter.
With city leaders like Mayor Dan Borgmeyer showing their support, Helping Hands remains a powerful example of what can happen when a community comes together in the spirit of giving.
We’re now preparing for our 18th annual event on December 17, 2025, and we invite you to join us in continuing this tradition of compassion and care.

The mission of Helping Hands for the Holidays is to make a difference in our community by providing those who need it a warm meal, a coat, personal care items, and more resources while also giving them a fun night out.
Helping Hands for the Holidays is coordinated by the Saint Charles Convention Center in collaboration with local organizations, community partners, and representatives from both the City and County of St. Charles. Together, we work to create a welcoming, supportive event for neighbors in need each holiday season.
Anybody can join us! There is no registration required, and you can come and go as you please.
